A message from the Founder
The idea of USA Patriot Shirts was born of my frustration during the election of 2004. At the time of the election I was working in state government and was on indefinite travel status. Most of my coworkers were undereducated. Many were very conservative, coming from rural backgrounds, they believed in the right to bear arms and were generally anti-government; something I always found a bit ironic given their employment! A select few could be considered liberal and a few others just didn’t care. As a fiercely independent, generally liberal, and spiritual person who tends to be very outspoken, I became a lightening rod for the politics of both our little office and the nation. Labeled as a liberal, people either loved me or hated me, but they all came to talk to me. And during these talks I came to realize one thing – most people just don’t think anymore. They just choose sides. Many times, when we would talk politics, I would find that no matter what I said, no matter what stance I took on an issue, I would be pilloried by conservatives and lauded by liberals. It was as if I was speaking to automatons. There were only two options – George Bush is God and John Kerry is bad or Kerry is good and George Bush is Satan. Once decided, it no longer mattered what either man said. There was only Us versus Them.
Well, I personally think Bush is a tool and Kerry is too. And a lot of other politicians these days are as well. I am tired of politicians who run around trying to gauge the political temperature. Tired of politicians who incite frenzy on one issue only to roll over on everything else I hold dear. Most of all, I am tired of the political climate that we the people have allowed to be created – allowed and assisted. The climate that says each and every thinking person, left or right, liberal or conservative, has the best interests of the country at heart only if they agree with you!
USA Patriot Shirts is a clothing line about issues, not politics. A USA Patriot doesn’t care about left or right, liberal or conservative. A USA Patriot only cares about what is just and moral. Not just and moral like what we hear on the news today – just wars and moral high grounds – but true justice and morality based on understanding, respect and forgiveness.

Chris currently resides with his wife and their two cats (both strays) in Burlington, Vermont. When not working on USA Patriot Shirts or other projects, Chris fills his time as a Field Forester for a small New England forestry firm. He is a graduate of Michigan State University and has a goal of trying darn near everything – at least once.
